The Pothole Moblog is a website where users can submit photos of potholes right from their cell phone. Users would be driving around and when they notice a pothole and have their cell phone handy they can snap a picture of the pothole. Optimally the GPS location of the pothole is captured at the time that the picture is taken. The user then emails the photo from their cell phone (optimally with GPS location attached) to the Pothole Moblog.
What good is the data?
The Pothole Moblog could submit a digest of pothole photo/GPS information once a week to the city officals responsible for that GPS location.
Or city officals could check the Pothole Moblog for complaints regarding potholes and with the GPS location in hand they could fix them!
Idea Variations
The Pothole Moblog need not be limited to just potholes. Any run down streets (cracked, sink hole, broken) problem could be submitted via photo moblog for city officals to fix.
